Tell us briefly about your background:

Originally, I am from Åland, but I have now lived in Helsinki for almost 10 years. I first moved to Helsinki to study but decided to stay for the great weather! I know, irony does not translate well through text. At first I studied business, but after completing my bachelor's I felt that something was missing. I had to make a choice between continuing with a master's or going for another bachelor's degree, this time in IT. Ultimately, I chose the latter and studied at twice the normal speed. Resulting in completion of my engineering degree in half of the regular time.

What inspires you about working at Crosskey?

Call me boring, but the fintech business is really interesting to me. So, having the privilege to be able to work in this field is inspiring.

How does Crosskey support your professional growth and aspirations?

I started working as a trainee. After that, I worked as a developer while finishing my studies. Then full-time as a developer, until about 1.5 years ago when I started in a more managerial position. Crosskey is a great place to work for those who have internal drive, as the company does not have strict career paths like “you have to be in a role for so and so many years before you can advance.” Crosskey promotes my growth simply by encouraging it.

What's one word that best describes the culture at Crosskey, and why?

Open. Everyone is encouraged to come with new ideas and ways to improve. The atmosphere is really welcoming, and the flat organization gives a relaxed attitude.

How do you balance your work and personal life at Crosskey?

Personally, I think that the gym is the best tool to achieve a good work-life balance for me. No better way to clear your head of any work tasks than to do some heavy deadlifts!
